Weyl Anomaly of 2D Dilaton-Scalar Gravity and Hermiticity of System Operator

Weyl Anomaly in the dilaton-scalar system in 2 dimensional gravity is examined. Discrepancy in recent results by some authors is clarified. We take the heat-kernel regularization for the ultraviolet divergences. In the present approach, the Weyl anomaly depends on the choice of an 2nd order differetial operator for the regularization. We have the freedom of its choice due to the arbitrariness of total divergences in the action. Generally the operator is non-hermitian and is hermitian only for a special choice of the total divergence. PACS NO: 11.10.-z, 04.60.K, 11.30.-j
